Attending Storms of Change wasn’t just a retreat—it was a recalibration.
The setting at Imiloa was stunning, but it’s what happened in the work that really stuck with me. This wasn’t fluff or surface-level motivation or rah-rah stuff. It was real, it was raw, and it was deeply human. Every session, every exercise, was intentional and challenging in the best way. There was room to be quiet, space to be heard, and no pressure to perform or pretend. Did she hold us to our word? Yes.
What surprised me most was the level of depth we reached without it ever feeling forced. The group was diverse, grounded, and genuine. Dr. Laura Weber Garrison created an environment that felt both safe and strong—something I didn’t realize I’d value so much. She's the prime example of what an exemplary retreat facilitator should embody, and she's absolutely amazing at what she does.
I came back with more clarity about what matters, how I want to show up, and what I’m leaving behind. If you're on the fence, take this as your sign. Laura doesn't lead typical 'let's do yoga and chant' retreats.
We do the work, big healing sessions, in a safe, secure, loving space. And yes, there is playtime.
Her retreats are the kind of reset more men could benefit from—and not enough talk about.
